FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I get an Owners License?

Edge Racing will have horses insured leading up until the 1st quarterly payment is due.  At that point, insurance is optional to each individual unit owner.

With a purchase of a unit in Edge entitles the investor to an ownership license, subject to applicable restrictions. With an owner license, you are entitled to get access to the paddock and backside, however since we are the manager all paddock access and backside access must be approved by the manager.

Do I need to be an accredited investor?

Offerings which are a 506(c) will require all investors to verify their accreditation status. You will be provided a link to our secure third party vendor, EarlyIQ, and coupon code which will cover the cost of this verification process. (See definition of accredited investor here.)

Can I still invest in micro-shares with MyRacehorse?

Absolutely, the goal of Edge is to offer all owners additional options and levels of ownership, we encourage diversifying in both products.

How are earnings distributed?

Earnings are generally paid once all race expenses are received from the Paymaster and trainer. They will be distributed directly into your MyRacehorse wallet and a breakdown of earnings/expenses will be provided to you.

What types of horses do you buy?

Edge Racing looks to acquire young horses with upside.  Our acquisition team is looking for interesting claims and private acquisitions which we think we can move upon, take advantage of conditions, or change circuits for an increase in performance.  Edge will also return to the 2-year-old sales starting March ‘23.

What about Tax Reporting?

Owners of unit(s) will receive a schedule K-1.
